Enjoy the Moment

enjoying the moment takes practice.

ya gotta practice paying attention.
being present.
and joy.

practicing all these things at once is kinda difficult.
so how do we even start?
and why?

the beginning of attention comes with focus.
focus on the task at hand
the people you're with
the space you're in.

being present is more than paying attention to
what's going on around you,
it requires your participation in the moment...
to fully engage yourself and your senses and your thoughts...
to weave yourself into the fabric of now and what it's made of.
realize your breath...
unite with each involuntary inhale...
experience each imminent exhale...

the practice of joy brings the joy of practice
and joy begins with gratitude.
gratitude for the breath, for each passing moment, for lessons learned...
it brings us peace with our past that cannot be changed
it delivers us to our future, happily anticipating the unknown.

enjoying the moment isn't a magic trick
that suddenly brings enlightenment.
it is the practice that is, in itself, the enlightenment
because all we have is here and now.
